With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bill Lee Johansmeier of Burlington, Iowa, who passed away on September 19, 2023 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Johansmeier and Ella Johansmeier (Scheihing); his wife Darlene Brookhart; his brothers, Ronald and Donald Johansmeier; and his sister-in-law Carolyn Wellborn.
He is survived by: his brother Ray Johansmeier (Kristy Christen) of Pass Christian, Mississippi; his children, Dana Dubyak (Jerry) of Murfreesboro, Jay Johansmeier (Debbie) of St. Charles, Libby Goben (Scott) of Kahoka, Teresa Gartner (Chuck) of Auburn, Dennis Wayne Brookhart of Burlington and Billy Brookhart (Shannon) of Maple Valley, Washington; his grandchildren, Derek, Sean Dubyak, Jake, Luke, Kyle Johansmeier, Christina Brooks, Jennifer Jackson, Shelby Goben, Roni Harkey, Scott Goben, Jr., Adrian Hill, Amiee Tucker and Clinton Brookhart; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Wheeler, Marilyn Warren and Clifford Warren. He is also survived by 27 Great Grandchildren, extended family, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice and Des Moines County Humane Society.
