He is survived by: his wife Joan Gilpin; his children, Kim Stanbary (Jesse) of Burlington, Jonathan Russell of Burlington, Tim Snyder (Becky) of Danville and Tricia Atterberg (Tim) of Johnston, Iowa; and his grandchildren, Tommi, Tanner, Tinley Tracy, Tim Jr. Snyder (Taylor), Jessica Snyder, Shae, Justin (Courtney) and Jackie Atterberg.

A memorial has been established in his memory for the Iowa 2x4's for Hope (Housing for US Veterans).
