He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Lee and Betty Jean Ellis Johnson; his brothers, Mark Emil Johnson and Philip George Johnson; and his stepdaughter Deanna Mosley.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Mosley Johnson of Burlington, IA; his children, Jeff Johnson (Christy) of Aylett, VA and Jenny Ross (Jamie) of Kahoka, MO; his stepchildren, Dr. Debbie Mosley-Nelson (Phil) of Burlington, IA, Lisa Mosley of Burlington, IA, Ted Mosley (Heather) of Burlington, IA and Dory Stevens (Sean) of Urbandale, IA; his great grandchild Mikayla; and his siblings, Christine Wallace (James) of Mason City, IA and Paul Johnson of Cunningham, KS.. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial bench in a local park or to the Special Olympics or to PAW Fort Madison Animal Shelter.
