She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick A. Spanhut and Mary Jane Kiersey Spanhut; her husband Marvin Chester Meeker; her son Ronald Meeker; and her siblings, Fred Spanhut, Lillian Daniel, Adelia Combs and Avalin Grothe.
She is survived by: her daughters, Joyce Ann Acheson (David) of Ankeny, IA, Rhonda Kay Jensen (Bruce) of Ashville, NC and Diane Marie Bimbela (Ricardo) of Santa Barbara, CA; her grandchildren, Daniel Acheson (Anna), Aaron Acheson (Melissa), Rachel Kellogg (Jacob), Shonda Jensen and Eric Jensen (Cheyenne); and her great grandchild Ezra Acheson.
A memorial has been established for the Mediapolis Fire Department, Mediapolis Ambulance Service and the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
