He was predeceased by : his parents, Lawrence Earl and Helen Anna Steinbrecher Neff; his siblings, Richard Neff, Dorthy Wilson and Mary Larson; his daughter Susan Clemons; and his granddaughter Laura Benz.

He is survived by : his children, Donald Neff (Michele), Penny Sebeny (Mike) and Pam Vaughan (David). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
