He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Box and Agnes Holtkamp Box; his children, Michael Box and Michele Garrett; and his siblings, Adrian Box and Dorothy Holtkamp.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Box (Susan) of Fort Collins, CO and Melinda Spiker (Glenn); his children-in-law, Marilyn M. Box and Joel Garrett of Burlington; and his siblings, Norbert Box (Karen), Marcella Holtkamp of West Point, Eileen Pranger (David) of West Point and Patricia Friedman of Burlington. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Prugh Funeral Service (3940 Division St, Burlington, IA 52601). The military honors was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Baptist Catholic Church (700 Division St, Burlington, IA 52601).
