We announce the death of Evelyn Allene Bechtel of Burlington, Iowa, who passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 100. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph C. Anders and Ruth L. Anders (Shelton); her husband Charles "Ivory Chuck" Bechtel; her siblings, Leland, Harold Dean, Dorothy Howard, Marguerite Richardson and Wilma Faye Day; her nephews, Bobby Joe Day, Billy Day and Doug Day; and her niece Judy Roberts.
She is survived by: her nieces, Connie Dyer and Candy Mueller.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church (1221 Park Ave, Burlington, IA 52601). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for First Christian Church ~ Disciples of Christ.
