She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Simmons and Ruth Simmons (Thieme); her brother Robert Simmons; her children, Patricia, Cindy, Greg and Michelle Appel; and her granddaughter Amanda Waters.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carol Appel of Burlington and Tammy Stiles (John Morlan) of Ozark, Missouri; and her pet Ellie. She is also survived by four grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
