He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Elliot and Gertrude E. Rogosia Galvin; his wife Luana Claire Boyle; his brothers, Robert, James (Doris) and Walter (Jean); and his grandson Ian George Galvin.
He is survived by: his children, Eric Galvin (Robin) of Des Moines, Tom Galvin (Leah) of Burlington and Jennifer Beard (Travis) of Pella; and his sister-in-law Cindy Galvin. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Burlington Education Foundation and Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.
