He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Damien and Margaret Helena Foley Kivlahan; and his brothers, John Francis Kivlahan and Dr. James Jerome Kivlahan. He is survived by: his wife Pat of Burlington; his daughter Joanne Elizabeth Rhoden (Matthew) of Nashville, TN; and his sisters, Mary Kivlahan, S. F. of Dubuque, Joanne Boudreau (Richard) of La Crosse, WI and Alice Stenander (Robert) of Galesburg, IL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established for St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
