He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Donald and Justine Walz Sandell. He is survived by: his wife Judy Sandell of Burlington, IA; his sons, David John Sandell (Verity) of Skokie, IL and Stephen Thomas Sandell of Burlington, IA; his grandchildren, Jeremiah, Joshua and Esme Sandell; his sister Marcia Bright (Butch) of Rock Falls, IL; his nephew Timothy Hurd; and his niece Justina George.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Divine Mercy Parish and St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
