We are sad to announce that on November 28, 2023 we had to say goodbye to John E. Schmidt of Burlington, Iowa, born in Ottumwa, Iowa. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Schmidt and Grace Wren Schmidt; his wife Patricia Jeanne Hervey; and his brother Msgr. He is survived by : his children, Greg Schmidt (Maureen) of Leawood, KS, Christine Corkery (Jim) of Bridgeton, MO, Janet Schmidt of Muscatine, Julie Kelley (Pat) of Burlington, Carol Lindhart (Larry) of Burlington, Lisa Smith (Mike) of Burlington and Anne Lansing (Chris) of Davenport; and his sisters, Sue Tharp of Sheboygan, WI and Helen Clemens of Ottumwa. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Burlington Notre Dame Schools and Birthright of Burlington.
