She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice William and Ethel June (Murray); her grandparents, Charles and Iva Murray (Calhoun); her husband Norman Johnson of Wapello; and her daughter Gwen Johnson-Walker (Kay).
She is survived by: her son Charles Johnson (Lisa) of Kalona, Iowa; her sister Barbara Lancaster of Des Moines, Iowa; her grandchildren, Courtney Chandrea (Alexander) of Asbury and Cassidy Johnson of Truckee, California; her stepgrandchildren, Logan Wadsworth of Ft. Smith and Lexy Powell (Jaemin) of Des Moines, Iowa; her great grandchildren, Maya, Pua and Ronan Chandrea; her stepgreat-granddaughter Elliana Powell; and her sisters-in-law, Donna Maddux (Bill) of Wapello and Opal Taylor (Dick) of Wapello. She is also survived by three cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services (209 Franklin St, Wapello, IA 52653). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Wapello (127 N Main St, Wapello, IA 52653).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Washington County Hospice, Great River Hospice or the Wapello Cemetery in memory of Kay.
