He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Carol; his sons, Ross (Melissa) of Mediapolis, Kevin (Tabitha) of Burlington and James of Cedar Rapids; his granddaughters, Grace and Courtney of Burlington; his siblings, Katherine Crow of Mediapolis, Karen Gittings of Wapello and Keith Copeland (Connie) of Wellman; his parents, Kenneth L. Copeland and Edith M. Copeland (Anderson); his brothers-in-law, Dean Crow and Bernard Gittings (Buck); and his nephews, Brent Crow, Joshua Avery, Christopher Copeland and Kerman. He was also cherished by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Kerman would appreciate donations to the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House or the Southeast Iowa Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.
