He is survived by: his wife Sheila; his stepchildren, Kim Burchett (Kris Olson) and Stacey Lazear (Brian); and his son Chad Bonser. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and his cousins.
A memorial has been established in his memory for Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Hospice House.
