He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Dowell and Lois Dowell (Granaman); and his brother Monte Dowell. He is survived by: his children, Todd Dowell (Janice) of Independence, MO, Dawn Thurman (Kim) of North Liberty, IA and Wendi Flatt (Scott) of Middletown, IA.; his grandchildren, Teara Dowell of Burlington, Savannah Dowell of Mediapolis, Caleb Thurman of North Liberty, Todd Stewart of Dallas, TX and Abby Enhörning of Gothenburg, Sweden; and his brother Larry Dowell (Dorothy) of Lakewood, IL.. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
