He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Schilling and Christina Schilling (Berthel); his wife Lavonne Beck (Bonnie); and his siblings, Larry Schilling, Bertha Hallahan, Eileen Schaefer, Mary Kueter, Bernice Ehlers and Dorothy Meyer.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Schilling (Mary) of Fearington Village, NC, Mike Schilling (Cathy) of Ocean City, NJ, Mary Imming (Gary) of Overland Park, KS, Joe Schilling (Sue) of Burlington, Paul Schilling (Colleen) of Coralville, IA and Betsy McCleary (Ken) of Ankeny, IA; his grandchildren, Christopher Schilling (Cynthia Wong), Lauren Schilling, Kate Schilling Kelm (Chris Kelm), Andrew Schilling (Dani Baurer), Allie Connell (Chris), Brent Sear (Erin), Emily Schilling (Nick Stawinski), Liz Anderson (Nick), Leslie Donnelly, Julie Albert (Justin), Erin Koelker (Kullen), Nicole Schilling, Matthew McCleary, Michael Schilling, Carolyn McCleary, Ellie Schilling, Joel McCleary and Anna McCleary; his great grandchildren, Joey, Hugo, Sophia, Theo, Ezra, Spencer, Harry, Beck, Lila, Ruth, Benji and Cal; and his brother Russell Schilling (Joan) of Dubuque, IA. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Divine Mercy Parish.
