He was predeceased by: his parents, Ovid Floren Polson and Helen Anna Larkins Polson; his spouse Glendal Ula Stigge; and his siblings, Doris Rowland, Lois Polson, Mary Ann Lukens, Gerald Polson and Richard Polson.
He is survived by: his children, Sharilee "Shari" Polson of Des Moines, Iowa, Susan Polson of Burlington, Iowa, Shawna Welty (Brian) of Galesburg, Illinois and Craig Polson (Kelly) of Gladstone, Illinois; and his brother Jack Polson (Linda) of Gladstone, Illinois. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established in his name at Unity Lutheran Church, Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House, and Prairie Grove Cemetery.
