He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Hester and Alice Hester (Cable); his wife Shirley M. Miller; his brothers, Jimmy, Larry, Bill, Wayne and Richard Hester; and his grandson Joshua Minton.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Schwenker (Joel) of Burlington, Danny Hester (Susan) of Cedar Rapids, Denise Kempker of West Point, Dennis Hester (Danita) of Montrose, Derek Hester (Kim) of Florida and Devin Hester of Danville; and his siblings, Joyce Pender, Marilynn Mullins and David Hester. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
