With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Eugene Hatfield in Burlington, Iowa, born in Humeston, Iowa, who passed away on March 4, 2021 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Marjorie Ella Hatfield (Street) and Kenneth Laurel Hatfield; and his son Richard Scott Hatfield. He is survived by : his wife Rena Marie Johnson; and his children, Kimberly Gray (Cliff) of Quincy, IL and Jeffrey (Liz) of Des Moines. He is also survived by six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two half-sisters.

There will be a memorial service at First Christian Church (1221 Park Avenue) at 11 a. m. on Saturday, March 6 which will follow COVID 19 protocols.

A memorial has been established at the church in his name.
