We bid farewell to Roberta Smith of Burlington, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 18, 2025 at the age of 77. Roberta touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry A. Hopson and Ruby L. Hopson (Nelson); her son Chris Wilkerson; her brothers, Lloyd and Jerry Hopson; and her brother-in-law Bill Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Mike Smith; her daughter Angela Wilkerson of Donnellson; her grandchildren, Jerry, Drew, Samantha (Dustin Walljasper), Alex, Danny, Caleb, Lily and Adeline; her great grandchildren, Axton, Meika, Brantley and Ryker; her stepchildren, Breanna Smith and Jason Smith; and her sisters-in-law, Pam Hollister and Darlene Smith. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lunning Funeral Chapel (2620 Mt Pleasant St, Burlington, IA 52601). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
A memorial has been established in her memory for Des Moines County Humane Society of VFW of Burlington.
