She was predeceased by: her parents, John Anthony and Ethel Elizabeth Thomas Bednar; her husband Ralph Gordon Gard; her son Michael Gard; her sister Donna Tessier-Leathers; and her uncle Albert Bednar (Vernal).
She is survived by: her brother-in-law Mike Leathers of Oskaloosa; and her nieces and nephews, Amanda Tessier of Burlington, Tina Richardson (Michael) of Des Moines, Steve Leathers (Sara) of Oxford, Shelby, Kelsey and Levi.
A memorial has been established for PAWS Animal Shelter in Ft. Madison.
