He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy E. Brown and Virginia Brown (Soethe); his sister Susan Gonterman; and his brother-in-law Ed Gebhardt. He is survived by: his wife Beth Brown of Burlington; his children, Kristi Ervine of Burlington and Nick Brown (Jamie) of Burlington; his grandchildren, Alexandria Ervine, Sophie Brown, Daphne Brown and Roy Brown; and his siblings, Tom Brown (Janelle) and Carol Gebhardt of Burlington. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established for The Honor Flight of the Quad Cities, 4130 Northwest Blvd, Davenport, Iowa 52806.
