He is survived by: his child Sammi Kopfmann (Travis) of Alta; his grandchildren, Ryland, Avery, Paisley and Wrenley; his son Dan Potts, Jr. (Chelsie) of Bode; his grandchildren, Watson, Weston and Waylon; his child Darton Potts (Madalyn) of Titonka; his grandchildren, Emmet and Kipp; his son Carter Potts of Burt; his sisters, Sheri Kowalke of Sac City and Carol Mahurin of Webb City, Missouri; his sister-in-law Deb Potts of Denison; and his cousin Doug Jacobson of Storm Lake. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
