It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Margaret Schadendorf (Burt, Iowa), who passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Earl G. Iverson (Helen); her grandmother Nora Martin; her husband Alfred Schadendorf, Jr. of Lone Rock; her mother C. Iva Quarnstrom (Fred); and her grandparents, Mathias, Margaret Iverson and Vincent Martin.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Schadendorf (Patti Carstensen) of Waseca, Minnesota, Gayle Schadendorf and Nancy Ilene; her parents-in-law, Alfred W., Sr. and Luella M. Schadendorf; her brothers, Bill Iverson (Lucile) and Jack Iverson; her niece Judy Iverson; her aunt Ilene; her uncle Bud Martin (Elizabeth); and her siblings-in-law, Elnora Hurlburt, JoAnn Kinne, Ruth Nichols and Junior Hurlburt. She is also survived by Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (109 Maple St, Burt, IA 50522). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. They moved back to what had been Al's family home in Lone Rock, Iowa during the early days of Covid shutdown, doing extensive remodeling to the 60 some year-old home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. John's Lutheran Church 109 Maple Street, PO Box 98 Burt, IA 50522 or The Alfred and Margaret Schadendorf Family Endowment supporting The Algona Police Department (The Endowment will be finalized in early August 2025.
