He was predeceased by : his parents, Verna Scandrett and Gaylord Scandrett; and his wife Alena. He is survived by : his children, Kelly Scandrett and Chad Scandrett (Jonette); his brothers, Lyle Scandrett (Pam) and Don Scandrett (Heidi Wessels); his grandchildren, Chelsea, Jordan (Rachel), Jared, Justin, Kim (Chris), Jonny (Katie), Jacob (Monette), Drew and Morgan (FJ); and his great grandchildren, Payton, Levi, Piper, Emmett, Dallas, Sophia, Ava, Nataleia, Layne, Natasha and River. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Peterson Funeral Home (415 School St, Carlisle, IA 50047). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the same location.

Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
