The passing of Helen DeJoode (Carlisle, Iowa), born in Bussey, Iowa leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on February 23, 2026 at the age of 89. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Pearl Wales and Rebecca Wales; her husband Dutch; and her sister Betty Cook of Stillwater, Oklahoma.. She is survived by: her children, Laura Hewitt (Mitch), Michael DeJoode (Barb), Carol Elam (Bob) and Nancy Kaldenberg (Dick). She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Capitol Hill Christian Church and the Runnells Historical Society.
