He was predeceased by: his former wife Patricia Louise Goodhue (Keeney); his parents, Marion Glen and Winifred Bertha Goodhue (Owens); his brother David Elmer Goodhue; his son Charles Edward Goodhue; and his niece Nicole Kay Goodhue.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Kay Goodhue (Kruse); and his children, Sherry Cooper (Hans), Laura Belzer (Rob), Julie Reed (Steve), Jenny Tucker (John), Casey Goodhue (Stephany), Eric Goodhue (Stacy) and Corey Goodhue (Rachel). He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren.

Baking those pies and donating them to others became one of his quiet ministries of kindness. And whether gathered around a kitchen table or a card table, Howard loved a good game of pitch, where the competition was friendly, the stories plentiful, and the company was what mattered most.
