He was predeceased by: his parents, Othmar Berger and Marita Berger (Huegerich); his wife Janis (Halbur); his sister Marlene Origer; his nephew Jason Berger; Leonard, Darlene Halbur, Joseph Halbur and John Halbur.
He is survived by: his children, Sheila Holm of Des Moines, Karla Van Roekel (Christopher) of Glidden and Matthew Berger (Amy) of Ankeny, Iowa.; his grandchildren, Keisha Holm, Hannah Messerich, Karson Holm, Emma Messerich, Clare Messerich, Dylan Berger, Kayden Holm, Dawson Berger and Kamryn Holm; his siblings, Dale Berger (Jolene) of Arcadia, Gerald Berger (Diane) of Arcadia, Michael Berger (Linda) of Arcadia, Melvin Berger (Laurie) of Westside, Jolene Berger (Howard Paul) of Arizona, Barb Warner (Kevin) of Carroll, Karen Berger of Arcadia and Jane Berger (Max Stall) of Lytton; and his siblings-in-law, Sherry Greteman (Joe) of Carroll and James Halbur (Kitty) of Carroll. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
