He was predeceased by: his parents, John Phillip and Helen Irene Newbanks (Fielding); his in-laws, Harold and Beulah Humm; and his sister Peggy Newbanks.
He is survived by: his wife Nola Humm of Carroll; his children, Kerry Newbanks Jr. of Ames and Stacy DeYoung (David) of Halbur; his grandchildren, Samantha Corona (Luis), Jordan Newbanks (Karlee Godbey), Bailey Caldwell (Gabe) and Chase DeYoung; his siblings, Roxie Rapino (David) of Oklahoma and John Newbanks of California; and his sisters-in-law, Elsie Armstrong (Lewis) of Missouri and Twila Beckman (Larry) of Carroll. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested for a later designation.
