He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Engelen and Clara Engelen; his wife Marihelen Fister; his son Martin; his siblings, William Engelen, Delores Schulz and Hilaria O'Herron; and his brothers-in-law, Larry Baumhover and James O'Herron.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Engelen (Pam) of Rockford and Marva Dillon (Matt) of Ft. Dodge Iowa; his grandchildren, Zach Dillon (Heather), Tom Engelen, Mike Engelen (Brittany), Samantha Harmeyer (Jeff), Joe Dillon, Matt Engelen, Emily Peterson (Neil) and Sabrina Engelen; his great grandchildren, Will Stark, Hayden Dillon, Camden Engelen, Reese Engelen, Bodhi Harmeyer and Wilder Harmeyer; his sisters, Joyce Baumhover of Carroll and Jan Boes (Denny) of St. Louis; his caregiver Marv; Kathy Engelen of Dakota Dunes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to be distributed to several organizations that helped Marv over the years including the Stuart Rescue Service.
