He was predeceased by: his parents, LeRoy Schagt and Lois Schagt (Weinbrandt); his brother-in-law Dana Jorgensen; and his parents-in-law, Marvin and Lillian Wendt.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Alice Schagt of Carroll; his sons, Jason Schagt (Lynnsey) and Ryan Schagt (Sara); his grandchildren, Hailey, Christian, Rylie, Logian, Keigan, Devan, Morgan and Adam; his sister Jeannie Jorgensen; and his nephew Christopher Jorgensen (Kimberly). He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carroll First Church (18632 US-71, Carroll, IA 51401). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
