He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert Tiefenthaler and LaVerna Tiefenthaler (Ricke); his wife Judy; his in-laws, Rudy and Hermine Vogel; his siblings, Donita Nieland (Melvin) and Al Lammers; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Vogel and Detlef Friedrichsen.
He is survived by: his children, Jeff Tiefenthaler of Carroll, Janet Brown (Randy) of Omaha, Jill Tiefenthaler of Carroll, Jay Tiefenthaler (Julie Waring) of Waukee and Julie Short (Allan) of Carroll; his grandchildren, Trevor Tiefenthaler (Brittany Klocke), Morgan Collum, Miranda Kuehl (Blake), Hailey Tiefenthaler, Jamie Stuhr (Connor Smith) and Tristan Brown; his sister Marlene Heisterkamp (Kenny) of Rapid City, SD; and his siblings-in-law, Carol Friedrichsen of Clive, IA, Dianne Trout of Fountain Hills, AZ, Mary Lou Evans (Don) of Rio Rancho, NM, Tom Vogel (Gayle) of Spirit Lake, Steve Vogel (Jeanne) of Idaho, Leah Lammers of Omaha and Mary Vogel of Churdan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carroll American Legion (1124 Heires Ave, Carroll, IA 51401).
