He was predeceased by : his parents, Theodore Harmening (Ted) and Mary Harmening (Wenck) of Lidderdale; his former life partner Lois Bruhn of Charter Oak, IA; and his brother Paul Harmening. He is survived by : his wife Barbara; his children, Rachel Ressegieu (Matthew) of Lenexa, Lori Harmening of Carroll, Rita Pedersen (David) of Jefferson and Mark Harmening (Penny) of Carroll; his stepsons, Scott Vandenburgh (Abeba) of Seattle and Alan Vandenburgh of Milwaukee; and his siblings, Ruth Kalles of Tacoma and Denis Harmening of Story City. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
