He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Trenkamp and Rita Trenkamp (Leibold); and his sister Kathleen Trenkamp. He is survived by: his siblings, Dan Trenkamp (Julie Hildebrand) of Hopkinton, Tom, Carol Zumhof (Kevin) of Dubuque and Donna Boge (Brian) of Dyersville; and his nephews, Carter Hildebrand (Mercedes Rury) and Robert Hildebrand (Lindsey). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A prayer will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Reiff Funeral Home- Dyersville (490 Field of Dreams Way, Dyersville, IA 52040). Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Luke's Catholic Church (206 SE 1st St, Hopkinton, IA 52237).

His love for his parish was evident in his generous donation of the bell system, a lasting gift that reflects his care and commitment to his church community.
