Maurna O'Brien Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maurna O'Brien (Cascade, Iowa), who passed away on October 31, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Maurna farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Maurna is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her husband George O'Brien of Patrick's Catholic Church; and her son Tim O'Brien. She is survived by: her daughter Loretta V. Noonan (Coakley). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (210 E 3rd St, Monticello, IA 52310). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
