He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Sauser and Adeline Sauser (Streng); his wife Mary Jane of Mary's Catholic Church; his siblings-in-law, Dave McNally, Steve McNally, Joe Gehl, Kay McNally and Judith Redwine; and his nephew Tom Sauser.
He is survived by: his daughter Laura Sauser of Dubuque; his brother Nick Sauser (Julie) of Monticello; and his sisters-in-law, Tami McNally of South Bend and Margie Gehl of Cascade. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
A prayer will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Kramer-Morris Funeral Home (700 E Oak St, Monticello, IA 52310). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (210 E 3rd St, Monticello, IA 52310). A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the Sacred Heart Cemetery (302 N Sycamore St, Monticello, IA 52310). He lovingly cared for his wife until her death in 2008, worked part-time at Kramer Funeral Home, delivered Meals on Wheels, and was a volunteer driver with the Jones County RSVP program.
He was an active member of his Parkinson's support group and developed many friendships with his fellow members.
