Richard A. Aitchison Obituary
We announce the death of Richard A. Aitchison of Cascade, Iowa, who passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 85. Richard will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Aitchison and Isabele Aitchison (Kirsch); his wife Kay Aitchison of Martin's Catholic Church; his brother William Aitchison Jr. (Gladys); his nephew Mark Aitchison; and his parents-in-law, Barney and Marguerite Frasher.
He is survived by: his children, Angie Koppes (Gary) of Monmouth, Scott Aitchison (Staci) of Naperville, IL, Mandy Crooks (Rodney) of Bernard and Tony Aitchison (Kelly) of Dubuque; his brother Gary Aitchison (Sharon) of Cascade; his brothers-in-law, Terry Frasher (Jan) of Cascade and Richard Frasher (Rose) of Texas; and his close friend Eileen Stephenson of Arizona. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Reiff Funeral Home (205 Hayes St SW, Cascade, IA 52033). A prayer was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at 4:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Martin's Catholic Church (408 3rd Ave NW, Cascade, IA 52033).
