It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sharon Marie McCarthy of Cascade, Iowa, who passed away on August 4, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Hittenmiller and Gertrude Hittenmiller; her parents-in-law, Loras and Isabelle McCarthy; her brothers, Jerry Basinet, David Hittenmiller Sr., Gary Hittenmiller and Donald McCarthy Sr.; and her sister-in-law Sandy McCarthy.
She is survived by: her daughter Mary Elizabeth McCarthy (Finzel) of Cascade, IA.; her husband Edward McCarthy of Cascade, IA.; her sister Shirley Blong of Hazel Green, WI.; her son Brian Edward McCarthy (Michell) of Petersburg, MI.; and her grandchildren, Belle and Dean Finzel.
A prayer will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Reiff Funeral Home (205 Hayes St SW, Cascade, IA 52033). Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul's Catholic Church (309 3rd Ave, Worthington, IA 52078).
