Constance J. Byrnes Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Constance J. Byrnes of Cedar Falls, Iowa, born in Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Irwin Ellingson and Vivian Ellingson (Merritt); her husband David Byrnes; and her in-laws, Lawrence and Harriet Byrnes.
She is survived by: her siblings, Dave Ellingson of Webster City, IA and Florine "Lori" Rule of Waterloo; her siblings' children, Julie Rule-Ong (Kiah) of Lombard, IL, Brad Rule of Waterloo, Andy Ellingson (Angie) of Bettendorf, IA, Pete Ellingson (Liz) of Centennial, CO and Ben Ellingson (Alicia) of Libertyville, IL; and her cousin Dennis Johnson (Susan) of Marion, IA.. She is also survived by 6 great nephews; 3 great nieces.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint John Lutheran Church (633 Willow Ave, Council Bluffs, IA 51501). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Memories Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls or the Alzheimer's Association.
