He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Swanson and Dena Swanson (Bushman); his wife Hazel Southard; his son Craig; and his siblings, Robert, Gloria and Richard.
He is survived by: his sons, Eldon Swanson (Vicki) of Hudson and James Swanson (Janis) of Cedar Falls; his grandchildren, Tara Swanson, Tory Swanson (Melissa), Amber Megivern (Dan), Aaron Olson (Andrea), Felicia Baker (Andy), Stephanie Swanson, Carrie Swanson, Lisa Wallace (Mike) and Brooke Starling (Ryan); and his daughter-in-law Mary Swanson of Independence, MO.. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Richardson Funeral Service (615 Main St, Cedar Falls, IA 50613).
