He was predeceased by: his parents, John Herting and Adelle Herting (Meis); his wife JoAnn Herting; his siblings, Lawrence Herting, Delores Luloff, Ray Herting, Jeanette Schmidt, Bernice Swinton, Marian Hess and Lois Eckland; his great grandchildren, Peyton and Patrick Stedman; his in-laws, Harold and Jeanette Kutsch; and his nephews, Scott Trebon and Mark Kiefer.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Johnson (Kent), Paula Kelly (Shawn), David Herting, Michael Herting (Lisa) and Greg Herting; and his sisters-in-law, Lynn Trebon (Larry) and Jeanne Kiefer (Jack). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
