He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Francis Boom and Alma Boom (Jewell); his wife LaRue Dettmering of Joseph's Catholic Church; his daughters, Stephanie Maiers (Dan) of Johnston, IA and Margo Ketels (Tim) of Dyersville, IA; his granddaughter Sydney Ketels; his brother Kent; and his sister-in-law Myrna Boom.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, UnityPoint Hospice or a memorial of choice.
