He was predeceased by: his parents, John DeBeer and Elizabeth DeBeer (Dilger); his wife Jean Bohlen; his sister Margaret Weir (James); and his siblings-in-law, Lester Johnson, Valda Bohlen, Marvin Bohlen and Oren Bohlen (Harriet).
He is survived by: his children, Alan DeBeer of Cedar Falls, Beth Sachau (Dan) of Madison Lake, MN and Carol Camden (Bill) of Burnsville, MN; his grandchildren, Brittney, Johnathan, Madeline, Luke (Katie) and Chris; his great grandchildren, Brielle and Tate; his siblings-in-law, Martha Johnson, Melvin Bohlen and Elaine Bohlen; and his cousin Donald Clauson.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 4th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Orchard Hill Church (3900 Orchard Hill Dr, Cedar Falls, IA 50613). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM at the Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens (5628 Waverly Rd, Cedar Falls, IA 50613).
