With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Ida Joann Frey of Cedar Falls, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Ida left this world on August 29, 2025 at the age of 102, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerry Rewerts and Ramie Rewerts (Johnson); her husband Rev. John Frey of Aplington; her daughter Kathy DeKock (Ron); and her siblings, William (Marian), Paul (Bernice), Raymond Rewerts (Ruth) and Annetta Gerdes (Ron).
She is survived by: her daughter Karen Zilen (John) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and her grandchildren, Tamara Dean (Brian), Amy Rudy (Jesse), Erik Zilen (Lauren), Matthew DeKock (Stephanie) and Katie Parkhurst (Eric). She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
