Though Joyce has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Michaelsen and Grace Michaelsen (Shatzer); and her sister Margaret. She is survived by: her children, Dane Bruce of Marion and Darc Bruce of Cedar Falls; her grandchildren, Trista Frickson (Christian) of Waverly, Dalton Happel of Cedar Falls and Shon Bruce of Cedar Falls; and her great grandchildren, Landon Wolf and Silas Card-Berinobis.
A memorial gathering was held on Sunday, March 8th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Richardson Funeral Service (615 Main St, Cedar Falls, IA 50613).
