She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey J. O'Brien and Mary B. "Betty" O'Brien (Christensen); and her sisters, Patricia Galasso and Mary Beth O'Brien. She is survived by: her husband Scott Lyon of Cedar Falls; her children, Stephanie Chesmore (Kent) of Cedar Falls, Kristine Rucker (Joe) of Hudson, WI, Kim Bond (Jeff) of Cedar Falls, Chris Petersen (Michelle) of West Salem, WI, Brice Petersen (Dena) of Clear Lake and David Lyon (Jennifer) of Toulon, IL; her brother Michael O'Brien (Narelle) of Clear Lake; her brother-in-law Gene Galasso of Clear Lake; and her close friend Fran Wehrle of Waterloo. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Tower Park (4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo, IA 50701). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (718 Clay St, Cedar Falls, IA 50613).
