She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Eugene and Wilma Esther Fox (Woellert); her husband William Herbert Karsten; and her siblings, Merle E. Fox, Mildred Voshell and Wanda Holden.
She is survived by: her sons, Kevin Karsten (Jacque) of Waterloo and Lowell Karsten (Deb) of Waterloo. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Schmitz Funeral Home (254 W Jackson St, Winthrop, IA 50682). A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Wadena Cemetery (3265 147th St, Wadena, IA 52169). She volunteered at the Oelwein Food Bank, was a RSVP volunteer at Harlan Elementary School in Oelwein and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jesup.
