She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl A. Huggins and Betty J. VanSickle; her husband Tom M. Thompson; her daughter Shelly Thompson; her grandson Adam Jacobson; and her sister Pam Mythaler.
She is survived by: her children, James Thompson (Kathy A.) of Waverly and Kris Schmitt (Luke) of Charles City; her grandchildren, Alex Johnson of Waterloo, Katie Johnson of Waterloo, Marshall Schmitt of Des Moines, Maverick Schmitt (Anna) of Cedar Falls, Justin Tuitjer (Lindsay) of Waterloo and Logan Jamieson of Waverly; and her great grandchildren, Chloe, Callan, Lola, Dexten, Aubree and Riley.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice (https://www.cvhospice.org) in Kathy's memory.
