He was predeceased by: his parents, Viola Smith and Jim Smith; his wife Donis; his brother Elmer; his daughter-in-law Marcia; and his great grandchild Charlie Joy.
He is survived by: his children, Kim Thompson (Jeff) and Scott Smith; his grandchildren, Mattie Testroet (Marty), Kallie Boos (Dylan), Siera Krogman (Andrew) and Chase Smith (Erica); and his great grandchildren, Dylan, Brody, Brooks, Shea, Rhys, Liv, Ryker, Everly, Kendall and Conner. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Richardson Funeral Service (615 Main St, Cedar Falls, IA 50613). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Orchard Hill Church (3900 Orchard Hill Dr, Cedar Falls, IA 50613).
